Don't Get Caught Unprepared!

Well, no one had to tell me it was about to happen, I kind of already knew it.  As a matter of fact, I was waiting for it.  First my son lost his voice, and took a day off of work, then both my girls started complaining of a sore throat.  I think my older daughter had it about a week before, but she is out of the house often, and I wasn't sure if she did get it or not.  I think that my overly optimistic attitude helped do me in this time, because I just kept ignoring the facts.

During this time, as usual, I told the kids to take extra vitamins, and use the essential oils. And they did. I knew I was getting low on oils and vitamins, but surely I would make it till my monthly order came in.  My son was sick for about three days, and really didn't get it that bad.  My two daughters complained of a sore throat for two days, discovered the Thieves cough drops and used them a lot.  They took their vitamins, used the RC, Thieves, Lemon, and Peppermint, and after about four days they were fine.  They didn't even develop a cough, and slept through the night.  They never even missed a day of school.  I was relieved, because I thought that maybe it was over and done with.

Not so fast. On Tuesday, I started with a sore throat at work.  I had what was left of the Thieves oil with me, maybe 1/4 of a bottle, so I started using a few drops under the tongue every few hours or so. When i got home, I went for the vitamins, to only discover there were not many left.  I took what was left, and asked my hubby to hurry and order more.  I only had a enough for the next morning.  I woke up to a sore throat again, and went to make Thieves tea, and take the rest of my vitamins.  I had to work, so off I went, and noticed that through the day my voice began to leave me.  The Thieves oil was almost gone, I had to conserve it, I ran out of Peppermint, had no vitamins left, and just made it through the day.  I hoped I could go home and rest, and maybe I would be fine the next day.  (My kids were fine after a few days).

I woke up the next morning with my head so stuffed, I couldn't smell a thing.  I had to work, so off I went.  No Thieves, no Peppermint, no one could find the little bottle of RC I needed so bad.  By the time the day was over, I barely made it home.  It was over for me.  Friday I couldn't go to work, I actually laid on the couch covered with blankets between shivering and sweating.  My vitamins finally came in, but that was all I had. The Thieves cough drops were gone, and the only oils I could find were the Ravintsara and Eucalyptus Radiata.  Make fun of me if you will, but I watched all three of the Lord of the Ring movies.  What else was I supposed to do?

Saturday morning I was a little better, and good thing too because I was on call and had to work an 8-12 shift.  That is when the coughing started.  Wearing a mask (I work as a hospital), to keep others safe, I managed to make it through the day.  But the coughing was horrible, non-stop.  That is when I wished I had my RC, but the Eucalyptus and Ravintsara helped a lot.  Deep breaths of each, and things calmed down.  I did sleep through the night, and felt much better.  Good thing because I had to work again 8-12 the next morning.  My voice was still gone, but the coughing was way better.  The Eucalyptus ran out, so I only had Ravintsara left.

Here it is Sunday night, and realizing that this whole ordeal could have been prevented if I had my oils stocked up. I should have known better, and still my monthly order didn't get here yet. Ughh. That is why it is important to have these wonderful products on hand.  My kids were all fine, but by the time I got it, everything was gone.  I got it bad, but am finally better now.  I am going to use my essential reward points to stock up, so this does not happen again.

Just for all of you, this is the season when you need these oils:  RC, Thieves, Peppermint, Raven, Lemon, Breathe Again, Eucalyptus and Immupower.  Get these products, Thieves cough drops, Immupro, Thieves spray, Thieves drops, and Super C vitamins.  If you have them on hand, then when you do feel something coming on, you can beat it before it beats you.
